The World Needs More Slumber Parties

Last weekend my sorority spent the night in Pittsburgh in a BEAUTIFUL airbnb for our fall retreat and it was everything that you would expect from a classic sleepover. We were greeted by goodie bags from our (amazing) sisterhood chairs that included fuzzy socks, homemade lip scrubs, scrunchies and a sleeping mask. By 6pm we were all in our Pjs topped with matching retreat shirts. We played card games, ate pizza and ice cream, put on face masks, and braided each others hair. My favorite part of the night was when we all sat in a circle and all said something we loved about each person. It was so pure and genuine and such a great bonding experience. When I went to bed that night at 3am, I had such a full heart. The girls in my sorority are all so dedicated and sweet and I am the luckiest girl alive to be able to lead them.

This is the second semester we did an overnight retreat and both times it has been the ultimate bonding experience. While in college, everyone gets caught up in their own circle of things, which is completely understandable because at the end of the day the main reason we are enrolled in school is to work on ourselves for our futures. Its not selfish but we often forget to indulge in each others company. Slumber parties are the perfect excuse to gather all of your favorite pals for a night simply to catch up. Stay up late, cry about what's stressing you out, laugh about all your favorite memories together, eat way too much junk food and simply enjoy each others company. I promise its a night that you need, even if you didn't know you needed it.
